  • Brilliant behaviour in Y6

Wed 21 Feb 2018 Miss Bilton
I am immensely proud of our Y6 pupils! We work closely with the transition team from Burnside, and the Transition Mentor is currently spending 1 day per week in our Y6 class. She also visits other schools in our cluster and told us last week that our Y6 class "are the best behaved from all of the schools in the area and are a pleasure to work with." This is a lovely statement to hear about pupils in our school. Well done to you all!
  • No Sharpie pens in school

    Wed 21 Feb 2018
Recently we have had some children bring Sharpie pens to school. Unfortunately these stain very easily and do not wash out of clothes or school furniture. For this reason, can I respectfully ask that children do not bring Sharpies to school. Thank you.
  • Y6 Dance Festival

Wed 21 Feb 2018 Miss Bilton

On Thursday 1st March some of our Y6 pupils will be taking place in the North Tyneside Dance Festival with other local schools. The standard is always very high and I am very impressed with the dance that our Y6's have choreographed. They will rehearse on the morning of the festival, followed by the actual event at 7pm.

The festival is held at The Parks in North Shields with tickets available at £4 each.

The children taking part need to be at The Parks by 6:30pm where Miss Abrahams and I will be waiting to meet them. The festival starts at 7pm and is expected to finish around 8pm. The children must be collected by an adult at the end of the festival.

It promises to be an amazing night so please see Miss Abrahams if you would like any more information.

  • World Book Day 1st March

Wed 21 Feb 2018 Miss Bilton
On Thursday 1st March we will be celebrating World Book Day. This is one of my favourite days in the school year because we all take part in lots of fun activities relating to amazing books and stories. The children may come to school that day dressed as their favourite book character if they wish to. This can be any costume (home-made costumes are always the best!). Each child will be given a £1 book token which can be used off the price of any children's book at many local shops. Details and fun information about World Book Day can be found on the World Book Day website.
  • Welcome back

Mon 19 Feb 2018 Miss Bilton
Welcome back to school. I hope that you all had a great half term holiday. We have lots of exciting things coming up over this next half term, so please keep checking our website and calendar for more information.
  • Thank you

Fri 09 Feb 2018 Miss Bilton
Thank you very much to those parents/carers who have donated prizes for our Attendance Shop. We are very grateful to you all.
  • Attendance Rewards week ending 9.2.18

Fri 09 Feb 2018 Miss Bilton

Well done everyone...for the 3rd week in a row our attendance figure has risen. Today I am giving out 161 prizes for 100% attendance and 100% punctuality which is almost 10% higher than when we started our 'Attendance Shop'. This is fantastic!

Also, well done to Y2 who are the attendance winners this week with 93% attendance. They will keep the attendance trophy in their classroom for the first week back after the holidays.

  • Happy Half Term

Fri 09 Feb 2018 Miss Bilton
It has been an amazing half term and there have been lots of positives from your children and our improving performance as a school. Thank you to all parents and carers for your continuing support and I hope that everyone has a lovely half term. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again on Monday 19th February.
  • Football and trim trail at the start and end of the school day

    Thu 08 Feb 2018

Can I please respectfully remind you that children must not play on the trim trail or play football at the start or the end of the school day. This is to ensure the safety of everyone in our school grounds. The trim trail in the KS2 yard is clearly taped off at the moment while we are waiting for a new log to replace the broken one, so I appreciate your support in not allowing your children to play on it currently.

At breaktimes and lunchtimes your children can play football and play with the vast amount of other equipment that is available.

  • Progress towards being a 'good' school again

Thu 08 Feb 2018 Miss Bilton
I have recently received our official data from the 2017 Early Years, Phonics, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 assessments. I am delighted that our data across school is strong, particularly our KS2 data, where we achieved above national averages in many areas. This data proves that we are heading towards achieving our 'good' school status again. Our predictions for this year are already looking strong again and we will continue to work hard to achieve this.
