  • Happy half term

Fri 28 May 2021 Miss Bilton

Well done to all our pupils who have worked hard this term and are remembering more of their learning. We break up today for our half term holiday and the pupils return to school on Tuesday 8th June ready for a fun-filled last half term of the school year.

Thank you to those who have sent in donations for Macmillan. Some staff are raising extra funds for this charity so all the money will be sent to them during week beginning 7th June.

If your child tests positive for Covid-19 during the half term holiday please let us know by emailing office@wallsendstpeters.org.uk and telephoning 07783 871710 so we can work with Public Health to contact close contacts and advise them to self-isolate.

Stay safe everyone and hopefully the sun continues to shine while we're off school. Have a happy half term and we'll see you all again on Tuesday 8th June.

  • Mental Health Awareness Week

Mon 10 May 2021 Miss Bilton

As a school we are focusing on our pupils' mental health as part of Mental Health Awareness Week. All classes will be spending some time looking at what this means and how we can look after our mental health.

At Wallsend St Peter's we have three staff who are fully trained in mental health first aid, plus all staff have received enhanced mental health training so that we can fully support all children who attend our school.

Over this week look out on our social media pages for photos of tasks that pupils will be doing as they learn how to be more aware of mental health and looking at ways they can help themselves.

  • Exciting news

Fri 07 May 2021 Miss Bilton

We are very excited that Mrs Warren has agreed to be our Y2 teacher for the rest of the term until we break up for the summer holidays. She is a highly experienced KS1 and KS2 teacher who will support the pupils well and help them to get ready for the KS2 curriculum for September.

Mrs Warren has been teaching Y2 one day per week since March so the children know her well and she loves our Y2 class.

Miss Ainsley and Mrs Roberts will still be in Y2 every day supporting pupils and with these three staff working together I am confident that our Y2 pupils will have the best possible opportunity to be ready for the next stage of their learning.
