  • Free online grammar training for parents from Dandelion Learning

Mon 08 Feb 2021 Miss Bilton

While you are all doing an amazing job helping your child at home with their learning we understand that sometimes it can be difficult and the grammar tasks can often be quite tricky. For this reason Dandelion Learning have kindly arranged free online training for parents on 16th February and 24th February which you can access by booking using the link below.

Free Online Training! Helping Parents with Home Learning: Getting to Grips with Grammar.

In this session for parents they will explore:

    • Grammatical terminology. Consolidate your understanding of word classes including nouns, verbs, adjectives, determiners, conjunctions, pronouns and adverbs.
    • Ways to support your child at home with their understanding of grammar.

This 45 minute session is free to all parents who have children at primary school.

  • Rapid COVID-19 tests for staff

Thu 04 Feb 2021 Miss Bilton

From 25th January we have been able to offer all of our school staff twice weekly rapid COVID-19 tests.  These are taken on Sundays and Wednesday evening/Thursday mornings at home and provide results in 30 minutes. These results will enable us to quickly identify where there are positive cases of COVID-19 in our staff team, particularly when they have no symptoms (asymptomatic) and would otherwise not know that they were infectious.

As before, if we have a positive case within school we would have to close the bubble in which the child or staff member works.  This is for the safety of all and to prevent wider transmission of the virus.

We will be in touch with you via text as soon as possible, but definitely before 8am on Monday or Thursday mornings if we have to close a bubble due to a positive test result.

By joining this regular testing regime, it will help identify positive cases more swiftly and help to keep our staff, children and families as safe as possible.

If you have any questions regarding this, please email office@wallsendstpeters.org.uk

    Stay safe.
