  • School open for critical workers’ children and vulnerable children

Fri 24 Apr 2020 Miss Bilton
Just a quick reminder that school is open every day for children whose parents are critical workers and for vulnerable children. Can I please ask that you let us know the day before if your child needs to attend so that we can make sure that we have enough staff and first-aiders in school. It will also give us the chance to order lunches for them too.
If you are a key worker and your shift pattern changes suddenly due to the covid19 response you may bring your children to school without a prior appointment, but please speak to us so we know how long you need the childcare for.
    Thank you for your cooperation

  • Free School Meal vouchers

Tue 21 Apr 2020 Miss Bilton

Last week we applied to the DfE for Free School Meals vouchers for all pupils on our list who qualify for benefits-related free school meals and whose parents sent us their personal email address. A code will have been emailed to you from Edenred which you then exchange online for supermarket eGift cards. Look out in your inbox or junk box for your voucher code from Edenred. These are valued at £15 per child per week. We applied for these to cover the next few weeks. If you have any questions about this please go to www.freeschoolmeals.co.uk.

You can also email freeschoolmeals@edenred.com directly.

If you think that your child should be on the list for benefits-related free school meals but they are not currently you can email student support via student.support@northtyneside.gov.uk and they will advise if you need to reapply.

The DfE have been in touch with schools to say that due to Edenred receiving a high volume of requests there has been some delay in sending these out to parents and carers. We still have some packed lunches at school for collection every day if you would like these while you are waiting.
