  • Donations for Ukrainian people

Tue 15 Mar 2022 Miss Bilton

To help support the Ukrainian families as they look for safety away from the horrendous invasion by President Putin and his allies, we would like to set up a donation centre at school.

The British Red Cross have asked for donations of money which they will convert into the currency that is needed. They said that this is the best and quickest way to get the help needed for these families. We will happily collect and send your money to the charity who will then send it to the Ukrainian families who need it.

If you would prefer to send items to be transported to them we will leave a box in our entrance for you to drop donations into. We can collect packs of nappies, sanitary products, first aid kits, baby wet wipes and personal hygiene products such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorants, soaps and face cloths only.

Please send your money or donated packs of items into school this week and we will send them off by the weekend. Thank you for your support as we look to help these innocent people.

  • Competition winners

Mon 07 Mar 2022 Miss Bilton

Before half term I sent out a SchoolPing message to parents/carers of all pupils aged 9 and over to explain about a competition that we were running to win the opportunity to be a ball assistant at one of the Newcastle United football matches in April. To enter, they had to send in a photograph of their child playing a sport, being active or doing some exercise over the half term holiday. The entries we received were placed into a hat and two were drawn out at random. We are delighted that Hannah will be a ball assistant on 9th April and Kenzie will be a ball assistant on 16th April at St James' Park.

Thank you to all who entered and well done to Hannah and Kenzie. We hope that you have an amazing time!

  • EYFS pupils go to Wallsend Park every Wednesday this half term

Fri 04 Mar 2022 Miss Bilton

As part of their learning about spring and the theme of 'growing', our EYFS pupils will go every Wednesday afternoon for the rest of this term to Wallsend Park. They will have opportunities to look at the flowers and trees as they change and grow while also having opportunities to build dens and play. It is very exciting to do this in the park and they will use these skills in our school outdoor area too.

Parents and carers have received a message about this already this week but please get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
