  • Names on uniform please

Mon 30 Sep 2019 Miss Bilton

Please can I remind you to write your child's name on the labels of coats, jumpers, blazers and ties because it is very difficult to work out who it belongs to when it is found. Usually many children in the same class wear the same size uniform. If you would like us to write it on for you, please let your child's class teacher know. Thank you.

  • Y4 swimming

Thu 05 Sep 2019 Miss Bilton

A letter is coming home today explaining that Y4 will begin their swimming lessons at Hadrian Leisure Centre on Monday 9th September and will take place every Monday for the rest of the school year. Swimming is an essential part of the PE curriculum and we are privileged that Hadrian Leisure Centre is so close to us and offers excellent swimming tuition.

Pupils will need to bring the following things every Monday:

    • a towel
    • a swimming costume (girls) or swimming trunks (boys)
    • a plastic bag to put their wet things in
    • a bobble to tie up long hair

As the weather gets colder please make sure that your child has a hat and/or a coat with a hood to cover up wet hair when walking back to school at the end of the lesson.

If you have any questions about this, please ask.

  • KS2 uniform

Wed 04 Sep 2019 Miss Bilton
Pupils in Key Stage 2 may wear a plain black jumper during the colder weather but they still must wear their school blazer. This is the agreed uniform policy and must be upheld. Thank you for your cooperation in this.
  • Macmillan coffee morning

Wed 04 Sep 2019 Miss Bilton
We are hosting a coffee morning in our school hall on Friday 27th September in support of Macmillan cancer care. This will be open to adults from 9am - 10am where you can come and enjoy a cuppa, cake and a natter. Any donations of cakes will be greatly appreciated for this worthy cause. The children will be making cakes and decorating biscuits which they will sell for 50p and they can buy any cakes left after the coffee morning later in the day. Please join us to help to raise as much money as possible so the charity can help people living with cancer.
  • Earrings

Wed 04 Sep 2019 Miss Bilton
Please can I respectfully remind you that for health and safety reasons, your child may not wear earrings for school. Even the small rubber retainers can hurt or even rip an ear if they are accidentally knocked during activities or break times. Children wearing earrings will not be able to join in with PE or play activities for their own safety until earrings are removed. The Governing Body will uphold this rule without exception. I appreciate your cooperation with this as we try to keep every child safe.
