  • Cooperation with Burnside Business and Enterprise College

Mon 29 Jan 2018 Miss BIlton
Having experienced a few issues with some pupils from Burnside Business and Enterprise College at home-time recently, we have been in touch with the school who have agreed to speak with their pupils. We will still welcome those who come to collect younger siblings from our school and who are following our rules, and I will continue to be present at the gate whenever I am in school.
  • Gates opening at 8:40am

Mon 29 Jan 2018 Miss Bilton
In order to ensure that children on our school premises are supervised at all times, we will be opening our gates at 8:40am. Any children who arrive at school unsupervised before this time must go into our school Breakfast Club. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
  • Fabulous attendance!

    Mon 29 Jan 2018 Miss E Bilton
Last week we started our attendance shop for those pupils who had 100% attendance and 100% punctuality. I gave out 150 prizes from Reception to Y6 which is an amazing number. The best attendance last week was in Reception - well done everyone! I wonder if I can can give out even more next week?

I am pleased to say that we are now accepting applications for our successful Nursery for September 2018, including a limited number of wrap-around places. If you would like more information about this or to collect an application form, please contact our School Office.
  • Good progress

Mon 29 Jan 2018 Miss Bilton

Over the past few months we have had some visits from the Local Authority and I am delighted that they can see good progress happening in school. They noted in their reports:

Outcomes for all pupils in 2017 were much improved on those in 2016 in all areas”. . . “The proportion of pupils achieving the expected standard was above average in all subjects, though especially strong in reading.”

They are happy with our vision and we will continue to work hard to provide the best education possible for your children.

  • Lining up

    Tue 16 Jan 2018 Miss E Bilton

So far so good with lining up each morning in the yards - children I have spoken to are really enjoying it! It is helping to eliminate children being upset at having to walk in on their own as they are always accompanied by a member of school staff. It has also helped to improve the number of children being at school on time over the last 2 days which is great. Pupils enter the classroom in an orderly manner and are ready to work immediately which will help to improve progress too.

Thank you for the feedback that I have received so far, I will pass it on to our Chair of Governors and I will send out a questionnaire in a couple of weeks time to get your written feedback too. Safeguarding is always our main priority and this is the driving factor in our change of system to now lining up.
