Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Thank you to all parents and carers for the support you have given us over this past year, especially during the pandemic. At the start of the year in January we had no idea of what was ahead and information from the Government came with very little detail or with very limited timescales but we have always done our best to keep our pupils and staff safe. Staff have adapted teaching styles and coped with changes at the last minute so we could continue to provide a high quality education. These measures will continue when we return to school on Tuesday 5th January 2021, so thank you for your cooperation.
The pupils have been tremendous and have worked hard, taking it all in their stride. I am immensely proud of them all.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year.
Remember that if your child tests positive for Covid before Christmas Eve call our school mobile number 07783871710 and email us at office@wallsendstpeters.org.uk to give us the info we need.
Please provide the following information:
Name of child
Class/year group
Date of the COVID-19 test
Does the child have symptoms? Yes or No
What date did the symptoms start?
What date did the child last attend school?
The school would appreciate it if you would be willing to email a copy of the test result that you receive. We will inform close contacts as soon as possible. Thank you
All Y6 pupils will be bringing home an important letter today, so look out for it so it doesn't get 'lost' before it reaches you. Thank you
You may have seen on the news that the Schools Minister said that schools may close to pupils on Friday 18th December and staff use that day in school as a training day if they wish to.
The governors and staff have agreed that this announcement is very late notice for working parents and carers to find childcare plus we already have some exciting things planned for that day, including the Early Years Christmas party; the whole school watching an online pantomime in their bubbles during the afternoon and selling our Christmas crafts that the children have made.
Staff training days are planned months in advance so that we receive the latest training and information in school. This could not be changed at such short notice either.
Therefore we will remain open to pupils until the end of Friday 18th December as was originally planned.
Teaching can then still take place during the morning and our fun activities can continue.
Please make an appointment for a telephone call if you wish to discuss this. Thank you
Due to ongoing issues from the pandemic with pupils self-isolating we will be unable to record and produce the DVD in time for Christmas. Therefore regretfully we will not be able to continue with the nativity DVD. Please make an appointment at our school office to collect your refund. Thank you.
