What they offer

 

The schools who currently pay for our service have the benefit of a School Nurse who offers: group and one to one interventions with anxious children, angry children, poor sleepers, poor and challenging behaviour, poor or picky eaters, low mood, school anxiety, social anxiety, continence through the day and at night, establishing routines and boundaries at home, bereavement and loss. Work around self esteem, self harm. Lessons around mental and physical health. Talkabout groups around self esteem, risk taking, friendships, healthy choices, relationships and feelings. 


In addition, they also carry out; Mental Health assessment and early intervention. Intervention, evidence building and referral to CAMHS or CYPS if needed. Work supporting parents and staff with their own needs. Parent classes for groups in all aspects of behaviour and positive parenting. Referral and post diagnosis support for pupils with Autism, ADHD, sensory issues, medical issues. Work between School and Health to ensure access to GP services, Hearing tests, Vision Tests, help accessing immunisations etc. Evidence building for EHCP applications to support with provision in school. Following up after pupil absences to see if any support is required and ensure risk is assessed. Medicines management support, Epipen training, epilepsy, asthma training for staff. Staff well-being support and drop in services for their own needs as well as those of pupils. Staff Training around health, therapeutic intervention and what to look out for. Lego Therapy. Health Opinion for Early Help Assessments and attendance at multiagency meetings within allocated hours. Lessons as part of PSHE curriculum.  Hearing and Vision Screening and referral. ‘Supernanny’ clinics. Home visits. ADOS-2 Assessments and evidence building. Sensory Profiling and interventions.
