Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Can I please take this opportunity to respectfully remind you about the social media letter posted on 19th January.
When making any decision to close a school, many factors have to be taken into consideration and protocols have to be followed. I will again assure you that I endeavour to always do the best for the children in our school, and I appreciate your patience in difficult and unusual circumstances. Thank you.
Due to the changing conditions, I will make a decision on whether our school will be open tomorrow before 7am and will update this website in the morning. Ideally we will open so that we can continue the fabulous learning that is taking place, but I also have to consider the safety of all children, parents and staff in travelling to and from our school.
If we have the unfortunate circumstance in that we do have to close, then we will celebrate World Book Day next Thursday instead. I will keep you updated on all these matters.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
I have just received the following message about the Y6 dance festival which was due to take place tomorrow. I will keep you updated if a new date is set.
Dear all,
It is with the regret that we have decided on safety grounds to postpone the dance festival rehearsal and performance tomorrow night at The Parks.
The weather conditions are forecast to continue. We are making the decision based on the safety of the children, staff and parents and all involved in the event tomorrow. This decision has been made with considerable consideration and consultation.
Further decisions will be made about the possibility of rearranging in the coming weeks but for now we hope you understand the decision that we have made and we hope you all stay safe over the next few days.
Many Thanks
I apologise but the decision has been taken to close the school for the safety of all pupils and staff.
Please keep checking this website for further updates.
Stay safe!
It has come to my attention that some parents/carers are smoking and using bad language at our school entrance. Can I respectfully remind you that smoking of any kind is not permitted anywhere on our school premises or where it can affect our pupils. If there is evidence that other substances have been used near our school then I will immediately inform Northumbria Police.
When collecting children from school, any parent/carer who appears to be under the influence of a drug or alcohol, or present in such a manner as to suggest his or her ability to safely collect a child is impaired, then they will be asked to wait at school until the child can be collected by another adult from the emergency contact list. Social Services and Northumbria Police will also be informed. Staff will not tolerate verbal or physical abuse and reserve the right to call the Police in the event of this occurring. All staff at Wallsend St. Peter's owe a duty of care to the children in our school to ensure their safety is paramount.
Recent reminders have also been given about not using inappropriate language where children can hear.
My role is to safeguard all pupils in our care and I appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Due to the adverse weather today and more forecast later this week, we have cancelled all after-school clubs this week so that all pupils can get home safely.
Kidds R Us will still operate as normal and will be available until 6pm each night.
