Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Congratulations to the 5 pupils who were randomly picked out of the hat to receive tickets for the NUFC v Burnley match ...they were chosen out of the 111 pupils with more than 96% attendance so far. Thank you also to NUFC for supplying the tickets. They all enjoyed the match and were delighted with the score too.
We will have more rewards for good attendance at St Peter’s next half term...keep coming to school as often as possible to get your name in the hat. Only those with at least 96% attendance will be included.
We are raring to go on our London trip on 6th and 7th June!
We will hold an information meeting nearer the time where we will give you the full details, but if you have any questions in the meantime please pop in to see me or make an appointment where I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.
To give us the maximum time for all the activities we will meet at school at 5:30am to get packed up and medications handed over to the first-aiders so the coach can now leave at 6am on Thursday 6th June. The coach will return at approximately 10pm on Friday 7th June, depending on the traffic.
Due to GDPR regulations, no mobile phones/iPads/cameras will be allowed, but we will keep in touch throughout the two days through the school text-messaging service and I will post photos on Twitter for those with permission. After the trip we will arrange an evening after school where you will be invited to come and see a slideshow of all the photographs taken throughout the visit.
I am leading the visit and will be joined by five other members of staff: Mrs Elliott, Acting Deputy Head & Y6 teacher, and Mr Piper will be accompanying us. Mrs Gardner, Mrs Jasper and Miss Matthews are all fully qualified first-aiders and will also be on the trip.
The coach will leave school at 6:00 am on Thursday 6th June and will take us directly to the Warner Bros Studio to enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the sets and props used in the film version of the Harry Potter stories. Both classes will be studying Harry Potter during Guided Reading sessions in the summer term. We will then enjoy a 2-course evening meal at Pizza Express before heading to Wembley where we will have opportunities to take photographs outside of the stadium. We will then check-in to the hotel which is nearby. The children will be in multi-bed rooms which all have en-suite bathrooms.
On the Friday morning we will enjoy a tasty breakfast at the hotel then will head to the Natural History Museum in the heart of London. Here the children will learn about the evolution of animals for their science topic. From here we will travel to the London Eye where we will enjoy a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of London from the top of this magnificent wheel. This will help them to investigate how we affect the world as part of the ‘Big Cities’ topic.
During the journey home we will stop at a service station to have a McDonalds meal for tea then will arrive back at school at approximately 10pm on Friday 7th June, depending on the traffic.
The pupils who are not attending the visit to London will do interesting activities back at school.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have about this trip.
An educational overnight trip to London for Y5 and Y6 from Thursday 6th June to Friday 7th June 2019 has been arranged and excitement is hotting up. This is an exciting opportunity for the children to spend two full days in the capital, enhancing their learning for the summer term topics.
The plan is to enjoy the Harry Potter tour at the Warner Bros studios, go to the Natural History Museum and enjoy a ride on the London Eye. Further details are included in the letter which I can print off for you again if you wish.
Mrs Elliott and I will both be definitely accompanying the pupils on this trip along with up to four additional staff depending on how many children are able to go. Two of these will also be first-aiders.
We will have a meeting nearer the time to give precise details and answer any questions about this visit to London but please pop in to make an appointment to see me if you need any more information in the meantime.
Please can we have the £25 non-refundable deposit and permission form by Monday 11th February so that we can book the exact numbers. Thank you.
If your child is in Y1 or Y2 and would like to decorate an Easter bonnet this year, they may do so in school on Tuesday 2nd April.
Pupils in Y3-Y6 may decorate a hard-boiled (or plastic) egg on the same afternoon. The winners of these competitions will be announced at our Easter event in the school hall after our service at church.
Our Easter service this year will be held in St Peter's Church at 2pm on Wednesday 3rd April 2019. KS1 and KS2 are working very hard to put this service together and would love you to join us as we celebrate Easter.
After the service we will serve teas/coffees and have a raffle, tombola and some small stalls in our school hall. We will also announce the Easter bonnet and egg decoration winners at this time.
Please join us if you can. Thank you.
